| Manfred von Richthofen, “the Red Baron”, was not only the highest scoring German ace of World War 1, but is possibly the most well known fighter ace of all time. Synonymous with his name is the image of the all red Fokker triplane which he was famous for. Richthofen, however, actually flew several different triplanes. Fokker Dr.1, serial number 152/17, was the aircraft in which he scored victories 64, 65 and 66. Only partially painted in the Baron’s colors, this aircraft boasted a red cowling, wheel covers, upper wing, struts and rear fuselage Printed on acid free stock with fade resistant inks, the print is signed by Russell Smith. |
