"PRESIDENT"

The PRESIDENT was a sister ship of the CONSTITUTION and the
UNITED STATES. Was launched on April 1, 1800. A favorite ship
because of her speed and appearance and served as a flag ship in the
Mediterranean in 1801-2 and again in 1804-5. The ship was captured
by the British in 1815 and later was broken up at Portsmouth.
