| The two american brigs NIAGARA & LAWRENCE and four schooners took part in the battle on Lake Erie on September 10, 1813 under command of Oliver Hazard Perry. Perry's flagship LAWRENCE was completely disabled and most of the crew was wounded and killed. Perry transferred his command by boat on the NIAGARA and broke the British battle line. He captured; two ships, two brigs, one schooner, and one sloop. |
