About the Artist Joe Kline:
Joe Kline was born in Washington, DC in 1949. He traces
his interest in aviation to his father, who was a B-25
bombardier in the European theater of operations during
World War II. Knowledge of his subject matter came from
reading and model building at an early age, He garnered
valuable first-hand knowledge while serving as a
helicopter crew chief with the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne
Division in Vietnam in 1970-71.
Although he has painted a wide variety of aviation
subjects, his primary interest is in military aviation,
especially for the World War II and Vietnam eras. He has
works on display at the U.S. Air Force Museum and the
U.S. Army Aviation Museum. Recipients of his work
include many former military aviators, including General
James H. Doolittle and President George Bush.
Joe is a life member of Vietnam Helicopter Crew
Members Association, 101st Airborne Division
Association and he is the founder of the Kingsmen
Reunion Association. He is an engineer by profession
and lives in Gilroy, California with his wife and three
daughters.

"Army Aviation, Vietnam"
| Edition Size: 1,000 Size: 20” X 28” “Army Aviation, Vietnam” This print honors the accomplishment and sacrifice of U.S. Army Aviation during the Vietnam War. Each type of Army aircraft, both rotary and fixed-wing, used during the conflict is depicted. The centerpiece of the print is a four- man flight crew, under a Purple Heart Medal, representing the loss of over 4,000 Army air crew members during the war. The accompanying certificate of authenticity lists the aircraft, and numbers (over 4,700)lost , by type, during the war. |
