A word from the Artist:

Randy Nagle was born in Austin, Texas, in 1953.
Following in the footsteps of his artist father, Bill Nagle,
Randy began showing true artistic ability around the age
of 9.

Randy, always being a lover of aviation, painted many
depictions of different aircraft. His particular affection was
for World War II era aviation art. Growing up, Randy would
live in Texas and in Oregon. In those places, he learned
different application techniques for his artistic abilities. He
learned the art of custom car painting, airbrush muraling,
sign painting and woodworking. During this time, he
would produce many original pieces of fine art, filling his
home with as much aviation art as he could.

After much research and many telephone calls, a new and
upcoming motorcoach manufacturer would get the name
Randy Nagle, time and time again as the best artist in the
area. Soon Randy's name was known as the best airbrush
mural artist in the country. During this time, 9 years to be
exact, Randy was still pursuing the aviation art he so
dearly loved.

A close friend, Stewart Barr, encouraged Randy and
introduced him to aviation artist, William S. Phillips. Mr.
Phillips, after seeing Randy's originals, encouraged him
further to continue to pursue his dream of printing his
aviation art. With the help of Stewart Barr, who is an avid
diver, supplying Randy with pictures of the beautiful and
mysterious underwater world of the vast oceans, "Sunlit
Legends" became the reality of the aviation art that Randy
had dreamed of.

"Sunlit Legends" is the combination of the aviation art
and underwater art that Randy feel so strongly about.
Always a lover of aviation, and the cool calmness and
mystery of the world under the sea, what better way to pay
tribute to the great men and aircraft of the World War II era.

Who can forget the famous aircraft lost at sea? The B-25
Mitchell? The P-51 Mustang or the P-38 Lightning? These
images so well known to aviators and history buffs,
captured in their final resting place in the aviation art of
Randy Nagle. There are many great aviation artists, all
capturing the beauty and strength of these great
machines. Randy's love of aviation and aviation art,
combined with his love of the underwater art, Sunlit
Legends" became his contribution to the fine art field.
