| Original Sold In 1937 and 1938 the Milwaukee Road ordered 30 Class S2 Northerns from Baldwin locomotive works. They were used primarily for freight use, but served as passenger locomotives when the need arouse. They moved long freights at a good pace. Ten more S2 Northerns were ordered in 1940. |
