Ok, the jeep wasn't an aircraft but we are talking World War II here
and you could stuff one of these into a C-47! Production of the
Willys MB began in 1941 with 8,598 units produced that year, and
359,851 units were produced before production stopped at the
conclusion of World War II.
Oh, and 'GP' DOES NOT stand for General Purpose when talking
about jeeps.
'GP' really stood for... G= 'Government' P= '80 inch wheelbase'
